We went for a chill lunch as a family — just me, my husband, and the kids and I genuinely wasn’t expecting to be this impressed. The food? Incredible. The energy? So welcoming.

The name peri-peri comes from the African bird’s eye chili — a tiny pepper packed with heat and flavor that was originally found in Southern Africa. Portuguese explorers discovered it, and from there, peri-peri chicken was born, a blend of African roots and Portuguese flair that Tribos has mastered and brought straight to Missouri City.
This isn’t your basic chicken spot. Everything is grilled fresh, packed with flavor, and you can pick your spice level which is huge when you’re feeding a whole family. My husband went with medium, I chose mild, and the kids got lemon & herb. Everyone got what they wanted, and the kids actually ate their food (you know that’s a win).
